基本図形→平面
で生成した後、両面化してエッジの分割・追加を行っていると修正困難なほど複雑に重なった面が作成される
これは仕様です？

各コマンドは面が片面であることを前提としていますので、面を両面化してしまうとその後の各操作での編集結果がおかしくなることがあります。
基本として面は常に片面で扱ってください。面そのものを両面化するのではなく、材質の設定で「両面表示」をオンにするか、ビューの「表示」ボタン内の「裏面を強調表示」をオンにすれば、裏側の表示を確認しながら片面時と同様に編集できるようになります。
