メタセコイア4の「ナイフ」の操作について

こちらのページを参考にしながら操作の勉強中なのですが、ナイフ機能の操作が上手く出来ず困っています。
「6箇所を[ナイフ]ツールで切断します。」とありまして、解説通り[Shift]キーを押しながらナイフを6か所、左から右へ入れると、左右は水平になるのですが、奥行(前後？で良いんでしょうか？)が必ず斜めになってしまいます。
前後左右全て水平にナイフを入れる方法、つまり立ててある円筒形のものの切断面を完全に水平面にする方法をご教授ください。
よろしくお願いします。

ビュー表示が透視投影になっているのではないでしょうか。
ビュー左上の「透視」と表示されている箇所をクリックし、「平行」に切り替えてください。
